Samsung NC10 netbook 唔行 WinXP 行乜野好

小弟有部Samsung NC10 netbook，行Atom N270 CPU, 旧机一部已没什么用途.
既然预装的WinXP已无support, 我谂下不如装过第二个os 玩下。
有冇人可以比d意见改用边只OS好，但安装最好唔好太复杂。我只会用来上网睇新闻，睇YOUTUBE，唔会打online games。间中做下d简单文书或报表咁。

无support唔得於不能再用,只是保安方面弱了,

有一套好好防毒软件 ,只要小心,防毒意识提高是没有问题

原因是netbook 升级所限, 升win 7, 怕会更慢

用返 XP,装返防毒,小心下载,就算无Microsoft supports都冇问题。

可以安装Win7，小弟都有一部ATOM N270，用32GB SSD，但最好升到2GB RAM，应该系DDR2的，市埸难找点。去脑场睇睇，Win7 32bit吾会Lag，ok顺的。

Ubuntu (Linux base). (no for gamer)
reason not all game can under Linux.
In linux you can install Wine then install Window version software. (aoubt 70% software can).
A lot of free software (include open office). Many can find in Ubuntu software center.
User interface 80% look like window.
you need to learn the Linux cmd.

do you know is it safe enough to do online banking or online purchase with Ubuntu?
I am a layman of Linux and know very little about linux cmd, but still want to give it a try

Ubuntu is linux base, It already has a very good user interface.
Firefox, Chrome has linux version.
Most of the software i download from Ubuntu software center.
I believe where is safe.

If you just want to try, you can burn ubuntu into CD/or USB Flash drive, then boot laptop/PC. (not need to install to harddisk, but it will take some time to start).

I also install Cairo-Dock software. (the dock)

我自己之前升左2gb ram, 一路都好想转win7, 不过嫌麻烦...

Thanks c hing for your advice.
Inspired by your advice plus a little research on Internet, I finally installed Linux Mint 16 because I like its user interface better than Ubuntu.
The installation was easy, no linux cmd was involved. Regarding the speed on my old PC, it is not bad but not very good either, but I still like this OS.

Can I install Cairo-dock on Linux Mint too? I've found there are lot of different distributions of Linux, do you know can Apps designed for one distribution also be installed on another distribution?

NC10无cdrom，要装win7可能都几麻烦。
视乎你想用部NC10做D乜野，我觉而家既Linux已经好易用，用法好接近Windows, 好处系唔会越用越慢，又唔驶怕virus.

I doesn't try Mint 16 before.
What I know is all different version is base on Linux, only most different is the user interface.

You can.
open a terminal and type

Into sudo add-apt-repository ppa: cairo-dock-team/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock-plug-ins
