FreeBSD 7.0 has been released: "TheFreeBSD Release Engineering Team is pleased to announce theavailability of FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE. This is the first release from the7-STABLE branch which introduces many new features along with manyimprovements to functionality present in the earlier branches. Some ofthe highlights: dramatic improvements in performance and SMPscalability shown by various database and other benchmarks; the ULEscheduler is vastly improved, providing improved performance andinteractive response; experimental support for Sun's ZFS filesystem;gjournal can be used to set up journaled filesystems, gvirstor can beused as a virtualized storage provider; read-only support for the XFSfilesystem; the Unionfs file system has been fixed...."
