Dear Sybase Customer,

I am pleased to announce that SAP has completed the acquisition of Sybase. The combination brings together the world’s leading enterprise mobility platform, column-based analytics and data management solutions from Sybase with the world’s leading business applications and business intelligence solutions from SAP. Sybase will operate as a separate, independent unit under the name “Sybase, an SAP Company,” under my leadership and the current management team.

At a co-located event in Boston and Frankfurt this month, Sybase and SAP came together to outline our joint vision of the Unwired Enterprise, and to share our strategic product direction and planned co-innovations in enterprise mobility, mobile services, business analytics and enterprise information management. At that time we announced:




All investments in Sybase products will be preserved and supported.
Within the next nine months, we will bring together technologies to deliver the leading mobility platform for business. We will release an SDK at that time for the enterprise mobility ecosystem to take advantage of this platform.
We will port, certify and optimize SAP Business Suite and other solutions onto Sybase data management servers by June 2011.
We will offer customers a complete and optimized high-performance business analytics infrastructure with SAP® BusinessObjects™ business intelligence (BI) solutions on Sybase IQ.
We will incorporate SAP's in-memory computing technology into Sybase’s data management offerings.

这些让我看出，原有这块应该不会没落，而且会发展，原先使用其他数据库的SAP应用都会回到SYBASE
