请问现在的Solaris8和Solaris2.5有何区别？版本跨越如此之大？

请问现在的Solaris8和Solaris2.6有何区别？版本跨越如此之大？
我听说最新的也就是2.7，他们有什么区别吗？

还有我公司有sun的250装着以前的Solaris2.6,我是否可以升级成这里下载的
solaris8??

solaris 8就是2.8，只是现在都不那么叫了。
我没有从这里下载过，但E250是可以从2.6升级成8的。

Solaris 2.7 = Solaris7 It is seems temporary version.

Solaris 2.8 = Solaris8 Now is stable and mature

Solaris 2.9 = Solari9  I got the version, but it is free for test.

Beware, for every application they must be run in its own OS version and patch level. It is not said that the latest version can provide more stability and performance then old one for specific application.
