RH9真的这么脆弱吗？？？

我安装的RH9.0原来一切正常，但今天由于有个朋友要借用我的显示器，所以我就拆了显示器借给他用了不到半个小时，然后我安装好显示器开机，结果就进不了RH9的图形登录界面了，只能进入字符登录界面，我输入root和密码后，输入StartX也不能进入我原来的GNOME界面。有以下提示：

RH真的如此脆弱吗？？只是把显示器拆下来再装回去都出这么大问题，怎么办？？？

我输入redhat-config-xfree86也不能恢复，出现以下提示：

xconf.py: Fatal IO error 2 (connetion reset by peer) on X server :17.0.
