准备告别slackware

slackware的稳定性和配置文件真的让我很佩服，打开配置文件，所以的注释写得清清楚楚，真是棒极了。但是现在准备投入arch linux的怀抱。看到刚才有位朋友找精简版的slackware，arch才真的精简，速度比slackware还快。
pacman和ABS，真的是slackware和gentoo都有了。

Terminator, have you ever try arch, I first heard it in OSNEWS, and can't answer those questions in a article:
# 1) Which distro uses Pacman as a package manager?
# 2) Which distro was created by former Red Hat KDE'er Bernhard "Bero" Rosenkraenzer?
# 3) Which distro is Vector Linux based on?
# 4) Name any three Debian-based distros.
# 5) Name three source-based distros.
That interests me. Then I found arch, and got very impressed by a good balance between source and binary packages management, which have been a headache for me to choose gentoo and slackware.
i will thank slackware, which give a good opportunity for improving and better understanding linux.
Thank all in the community for your help and good advice.

不用派生版

??要精简linux，还不如自己精简。不管哪个发行版都是有办法精简的，但是如果想在精简的上面再添加就比较麻烦了
最小的当然是一张软盘装的，HOHO 2M带图形界面的
稍微大点的是一个20M的ISO，当然那些东东不大好用
其实很想学习定制光盘技术，我想应该比定制windows光盘来得有意思
slackware是个不错的选择，没有宽带(deban gentoo)，不喜欢折腾(gentoo lfs)的话.
其实大家如果自己学会做包的话，就不需要整天跟着升级，玩来玩去瞎折腾

arch 的重点不在精简上，而是他的包管理，我也想换，不过说实话换个系统不是那么容易地

vector不错，很小，硬件要求不高。安装也比较方便。
楼主说的slackware的稳定性指的是什么，为什么其它发行版就不如呢。

I've never tried other dist. seriously because I have no time to switch from this dist. to that dist. everyday. If you have plenty of time to waste, just go ahead.

From every dist., you can learn the same thing. And I assure you that for any major dist., you won't have enough time to learn everything. My opinion is that if you want to learn something in depth, stick with one dist.. Otherwise, you just wast your time and always stay on the surface.

偶也没有宽带
看来比较适合slackware，呵呵

请问现在装哪个版本比较合适？

偶99年的时候买过一本书，带的slackware不过忘了版本了，应该好老了吧

Oh, I have to say I don't wanna learn in depth, I just want a system running smoothly and fast, or maybe simple-to-configure and easy-to-update. I even only want to get a desktop to use everyday. Well, why not choose windows, oh, I just don't have plenty of money and rebooting time to waste on it.
Choice is great, but anyway Terminator I never mean to persuade you try another distro, Arch is quiet and little-known distro, and still in the stage of beta, Keep going your way, that's good.

I do not need anybody to persuade me because I have never thought to choose a different dist. no matter how 'good' it is. ;-) I am a lazy guy, unwilling to reinstall my machines frequently. When you know the meaning of 24x7, you will understand my position.
