升级内核linux-2.6.20后开机后无法引导系统

两台新买的IBM服务器做的RED 5，装的是分别红帽linux 5.4和5.5都存在这种问题，重新启动用新内核引导时提示

setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory

Kernel panic – not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

然后死机。原18内核能进去。谁有办法？是不是硬件的问题？
