AirPort Time Capsule（ATC）

想换只ATC 2TB或3TB，但屋企有MAC和WIN PC，想问下各位师兄／姐，ATC可唔可以整两个PARTITION，一个用黎做TIME MACHINE BACKUP，另一个FORMAT做EXFAT或者NTFS比WIN PC做SHARE DRIVE？

而另外想买多只3TB HDD用USB CASE另外驳住只ATC FOR SHARE DRIVE BACKUP，另想问下ATC里面有冇可以定时做BACKUP到外置USB HDD既设定？

As I know, we can't do partition on any NAS hard drive.

If you would like to limit the size of the TM, you can create a TM img with a limited size. There is a guide online but I would rather stick with the official way, backup is very important these days.

USB hdd on TC, it is quite slow... like 3-5MB per second.


In my case, I am using a Synology for file sharing, 1.5TB Seagate 2.5" hdd to backup the content daily. And the AC-TC for router and TM backup for my Mac.


I still don't see the TC is "good" enough to be a file sharing device... the interface is too simple compare with Synology, just my 2cents.

我都同意师兄讲TC唔系一只全面功能既NAS，但因为我房实在冇太多空间可以放咁一只TC＋NAS和咁买两只DEVICE实在OVER BUDGET，所以先会考虑用一只TC做哂，再加上想顺便用埋AC WIRELESS，都知咁唔系太好！

ANYWAY 真系好多谢师兄既意见～

NAS TC 分家啦，两样完全唔同用途。

明白，咁想问下师兄有冇一D性价比高既NAS好介绍？

If you concern about the heat, go with Lacie, but... simple "feature"...

If you want to be more advance feature, Synology, 1bay with usb hdd hdd for backup.
