Backing up Time Capsule??

I find the hard disk of the Time Capsule is not server grade.

I hv important data in the Time Capsule (family photos) which is valuable.

* Can I attach a NAS to the Time Machine to do the backup of certain data?? I find there is a slot (USB ?) in the Time Capsule.
* Or, do I need to setup another wifi network for backing up the Time Capsule by the NAS??
* Which app should I use for Mac for the regular backup fm Time Capsule to the NAS ??

TM or TC is NOT a server! Any average quality 5400 rpm Low Heat hdd will do - merely a few GB every hour

TM has a special file structure, Mac won't be able to restore from TM's backup.
Instead, you should setup an Apple Script to schedule backup the iPhoto Library or any file/folder on a second disk .
Google : Applescript (or Automator) + iCalendar + Schedule backup

I only need certain data or folders of the Time Capsule. I don't need all the data in the Time Capsule.

So, can I just plug in a Low heat HDD in the USB port of the TimeCapsule and schedule the backup by AppleScript??

Yes, plug in any third party USB hdd, we don't call it Time Capsule.

Use Automator or buy a schedule backup from app store.

I never use the USB plug in the TimeCapule before and don't know what is the use. So now I think the TimeCapsule's USB is for being plugged for additional harddisk or USB memory.

I'll try it tonite. So I should see an addition device after plugging in the additional NAS or USB memory.

And I'll need to search how to schedule the backing up of certain folders in the TimeCapule to the external device.
