No problem as long as both RAMs have same volt & CL-number (e.g. 1.5v, CL-9). Check the manufacturer site.
Matching pair is not required, dual channel only boost performance very slightly and not noticeable in daily use.
Some older Mac max RAM size in asymmetric number but would not slow down the machine. Example, Macbook 3GB ( 2 +1 ), iMac 6 GB ( 4 + 2 )
You gain more from 10 GB (8+2), than 8 GB x1 or 4 GB x2
