64位系统很惊人？Android早就支援了

Apple 率先在iPhone 5S中实现了64位处理器以及64位系统，并因此引起业内外广泛讨论。但实际上，64位系统真就是破天荒的惊人之举么？Android或许会偷偷告诉你，64位？它早就支援了。
我们知道，Android是一款基於Linux的系统，所以支援64位操作是很稀松平常的事情，Linux高管也确认了这一点。
日前，世界Linux基金会执行主管Jim Zemlin表示，无需任何特殊的改动，Android系统就能运行在64位。
也就是说，Android系统内核早已经支援64位操作，但为何会被 Apple iOS抢了先，主要原因还是Android阵营厂商至今还没有推出搭载64位处理器的硬体设备。不过 Apple 这一垄断很快会被打破—— Samsung 已经宣布要在下一个旗舰手机中运用上64位处理器。

Competition is a good thing ;) remember, Mac OS's transition from 32bit to 64bits was very smooth and seamless. Apple does a very good job with these kind of transition, simply because they've done that so many times. They had to switch to from Motorola chips to IBM chips, and then IBM chips to Intel chips and then 32 to 64 bits, all without much problem with the development community.

64bit is a forward-looking technology. There's really no need to put it into a phone unless apple has plans that require the majority of iPhone users have 64 bit capacity. So I'm very sure apple is putting this in for the thing that they plan to do next year. As an advantage, 64 bit CPU also has a lot more registers, which means the OS can store things on register instead of ram, and we all know that storing stuffs on registers instead of ram is a lot faster, which is part of why they can have double the speed of A6 without much battery impact.
