Transferring harddisk data from MacBook 2008 to MacBook Air 2014?

I hv my MacBook 2008 for many years, and I am recently buying a new MacBook Air 2014.

I hv TimeCapsule at home, which backing up my MacBook 2008 hourly. The OS in my MacBook 2008 should be very update.

1) How can I transfer my old Mac to the MacBook Air??
2) Should I use the backup from TimeCapsule??
3) Since the processors and configuration of the 2 Mac are different, is it advisable to transfer the old data directly to the new MacBook Air??
