Setting up file server at home without connecting to any Windows nor Mac?

I am using TimeCapule at home, but know it is not a file server. I hv problem to access to the files in the TimeCapsule when working in the streets.

I wish to setup a file server at home but don't want to turn on any PC nor Mac all the time. So, I'll need the file server to work with the TimeCapsule or another router, and the file server has its own intelligent for internet access without turning on any PC nor Mac all the day.

So, what hardware should I buy???

get a nas with vpn
u may get in the nas with ssh or its own web interface

TimeCapsule吾熟，如果你话佢做吾到file server功能，就忘记左佢吧

一般nas + router (要有Dynamic DNS功能)都可以做到你要求

而vpn feature就吾一定需要
