about i-cable TV

I want to buy a HD TV, but if I have i-cable + old DVD recorder.

can it still function?

now the TV cable is fr Wall-> recorder ->I-cable -> TV, still same?

so the recorder still can rec the Old TVB? (NOT HD TVB)
